Mondays with Muir - Eternal Show
The grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never all dried
at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming, on the sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls. John Muir
These words are a warm hug in a cold world. It is a very powerful image for me to picture the line of a magnificent sunset slowly creeping westward. Not fading, or fleeting, but staying constant in its glow and beauty. It may have escaped from my view, but it is still very real. The slipping away is only an illusion. This is a wonderful reminder to me that even greater, and warmer, and more glorious than the sun, is our Lord. His love for us is eternal. Even through the darkest of nights, His love is always pursuing, never forsaking, forever enduring, ever loving, e t e r n a l.
I hope Muir's words impress on your heart something lovely and meaningful. God Bless
